Insurance is good – there I have said it and I believe it.
An industry that helps people in the worst of times to recover and move on while building up a pool of capital to invest in local economies and one that is a bed rock of the majority of societies around the world really should not be as badly regarded as it is. And yet the industry continues to go out of its way to make itself look foolish and out of touch with the public and industry in general.
Through some of my insights and knowledge gained over my career to date I will try and give a new perspective on the industry and in particular to how the changes that are driving society and the insurance industry itself will ultimately benefit customers.
I will also weave in some of the developments in the so called ‘insurtech‘ world that are beginning to have a significant impact on the industry. And at the same time I’ll take a look at how leaders need to change to deal with a combination of more informed and assertive customers and more technology savvy and more mobile workers.
I know it might not seem like it but the changes in the insurance industry will impact each and every one of us. In ways that are quite unpredictable; in an industry that prides itself on being predictable.
